This self-retracting block includes a retractable metal wire rope lifeline stored in a spool within a protective housing. The retractor is spring-loaded to wind in the retractable lifeline and incorporates an inertia brake mechanism, which allows the lifeline to be slowly withdrawn and automatically retracts to accommodate the user's body movements. It also includes a swivel carabiner with double safety lock and fall indicator.
